Selligent, a leading European CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and e-business software company , has announced the opening of a branch in Spain and the appointment of two distribution partners in Italy. The new subsidiary together with the new partners ITI in Milan and INDATA in Rome confirm Selligent’s plans to aggressively expand its markets in Southern Europe.
Until this year, Selligent had established operations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the UK and France. The French subsidiary of the European CRM software developer has been a bridgehead for the markets of Southern Europe. Parallel to this activity, Selligent had already began setting up a network of certified partners in Spain in order to market its software solutions to Spanish customers.
Following eight months of distributing Selligent 2000 CRM and e-business solutions in Spain, Selligent had already obtained excellent results with the signing 5 new contracts. As a result of this success, Selligent decided to set up a direct subsidiary in Barcelona which is now operational since March 2001.
Selligent’s plan is to create a network of strategic partners throughout Southern Europe. The objective of these partnerships is to achieve 65% licence revenue and 35% with services.
“Our experience in the European customer relations market encourages us to strengthen our position by establishing businesses in the majority of European countries”, explains Michel Doric, Vice-President Business Development at Selligent. “Spain and Italy are two markets that are enjoying substantial growth —Selligent has committed to the investment required to succeed in both of these dynamic countries”.
Southern Europe, a substantial growth market for Selligent
Last year, Selligent Southern Europe achieved a turnover of 7.17 million euros (figures are for Southern Europe only) compared with 4.12 million euros for the year before, equivalent to 75% growth, with 30 staff, in 2000.
Today Selligent achieves 90% of its turnover for the Southern European market in France. The software developer has managed to build a substantial network of partnerships which has enabled it to win over 60 new clients in 2000. Its partners include: Orgaconsultants, Microsoft, IBM Global Services, Atos, Sema, Sopra, Intégris, and Transiciel. Selligent anticipates that these integrators will enable it to achieve its 35% services/65% license revenue target this year.
The 50 new clients that signed contracts in France last year include leading names such as Gaz de France (1500 users), the PMU (900 users), Lexmark France (800 users), CPR Gestion, Calberson, the Ouest France Group, ADP GSI, the Henner group and Sicovam (Crédit Agricole Group). This customer base covers sectors such as insurance and savings companies, transport and telecommunications.
Selligent is forecasting substantial growth for 2001, due to the extension of these market activities in Southern Europe as well as in Scandinavia.
