.NET uses industry XML Web service standards that enable software applications to interoperate, regardless of platform or programming language. In the future, a broad range of personal and business applications can be connected via the .NET standards, such that users can access important information whenever and wherever it is needed. These applications need not be conceived with any knowledge of each other.
Selligent provides the first CRM solution worldwide to be 100% developed on the .NET framework - contrary to those applications that just add a certified XML layer on the surface - to be 100% thin client, and to have all components implemented as web services. This rapid and complete certification shows the outstanding technical expertise of the Selligent development team and their capacity to turn technological advances into useful products in record time.
The .NET Connected Logo program is a way for customers to identify the applications, systems, and services that have been optimized for interoperation using the .NET standard. The certification makes sure that applications use all the standards like XML and SOAP in a Web Services architecture that makes integration possible and even painless. Selecting certified applications, users can be sure to choose the right building blocks for their IT system.
Selligent’s leading edge technology base made the transition and conformance to the .NET standards straightforward and allowed Selligent to go ahead rapidly. The integration of .NET compliant applications facilitates two-way communications. For example, a customer’s Selligent system can “ask” his financial system about the payment history of a customer, his SCM system about production and shipment dates for a customer order, etc. In turn, the back-office systems can turn to the Selligent CRM system “asking” about the cost and return of marketing campaigns, the sales pipeline, the actual and projected value of a customer, etc.
Selligent functionality can be accessed as a set of “Web services” by other applications and vice versa, while no knowledge about the inner workings of one application is necessary for the other. The IT analysts consider such Web service oriented architectures as an absolute must for any software in the years to come.
