Psion Teklogix: international CRM deployment with return on investment in record time


With a return on investment in under a year, Selligent's CRM solution has enabled Psion Teklogix to optimise customer relationships and sign a number of local and global contracts.

Selligent, one of the leading CRM vendors in Europe, counts Psion Teklogix, a subsidiary of the Psion Group and an international supplier of mobile devices and robust wireless local area network and enterprise support systems, amongst its most prestigious customers.

The strong growth of Psion Teklogix's French subsidiary in 1999 was a decisive factor in the acquisition of a customer relationship management solution. After analysing the various systems on the market, Psion Teklogix chose Selligent. Guy-Franck Nakach, Psion Teklogix's Managing Director Europe, explains, "The solution offered by Selligent was the most suited to our requirements, namely the possibility for Psion Teklogix to create or manage quotations and forecast sales. In addition, Selligent's mid-market positioning and the professionalism of its staff were significant points in favour of choosing its CRM solution."

The CRM tool Selligent Xi for Windows is now used by over 50 people at Psion Teklogix France, mainly in the pre-sales and marketing teams. The solution allows them to group and share accurate, comprehensive data about their customers (types of products sold, etc.) and to produce sales statistics and detailed business reports. All of this information is shared with the general management of Psion Teklogix France, as well as with the company's subsidiaries worldwide (the United States, Canada, England, Italy, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Benelux).
"The fact that the CRM requirements are the same in all our European and American subsidiaries, together with the international nature of our customers and prospects naturally led us to deploy Selligent's solution worldwide and to choose the Global & Local module," says Guy-Franck Nakach.

The Global & Local module is unique on the CRM market and enables Psion Teklogix Canada to centralise information from each country and synchronise it in a global database. The module operates in 7 languages (French, English, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Swedish and German) and allows for specific local factors (items sold, price lists, etc.) whilst maintaining global consistency. Global & Local thus allows Psion Teklogix to improve logistics and production organisation and forecast sales. Last but not least, the module means that Psion Teklogix can carry out international projects.
"We have already signed several international contracts thanks to Selligent, and we are currently working on two European projects. Selligent's CRM solution has become a strategic tool for the group," adds Guy-Franck Nakach.

What's more, Selligent Xi interfaces with the Baan ERP system and Psion Teklogix's Base Service Extension, an internally-developed extranet. Used by a total of 400 people, the Selligent CRM tool thus gives every department of Psion Teklogix - marketing, sales, production and after-sales service - a clear view of their numerous customers.
